Process

Let's get started...

   An inventory has three phases:
    1) The on-site conducting of the inventory
    2) The off-site processing of the inventory
    3) The delivery of the final inventory portfolio.

How to prepare for an inventory?

A little preparation is required from you in the form of gathering available receipts or backup documentation for major or theft prone items to be inventoried. Any form of documentation provided will be scanned on site to be included in your portfolio. Don't worry, items will still be inventoried even if you cannot locate a receipt.

This is an inventory not an inspection, spit shine is not required. However, easy access to areas and items to be photographed is required.

If there are items in storage which should be included in the inventory, please take the time to retrieve and unpack those items so they're ready on the day of the inventory.

What happens on the day of your inventory?

Upon arrival, you will be provided with proper identification as to who is conducting your inventory.

We request that our clients accompany us throughout the inventory. This is  for your peace of mind as well as ours.

We are pet friendly to friendly pets. Please be considerate in maintaining control of any not so friendly pets.

First, we'll conduct a preliminary interview to discuss the process, handle formalities and offer additional options. Then request a walk-through of the area being inventoried.

We will begin the inventory with video of the exterior of the home or business including the property. While outside, stills of the structure and property are also taken.  The video will then continue inside, room by room.

*** We invite customer participation in the video process. For the seriousness of it or for the fun of it, you know more about your home or business than we do so your verbal input is helpful. While you're not required to appear on camera, your verbal descriptions add clarification and credibility. And, this is not a full length motion picture. The video is normally only 10 to 15 minutes in duration depending upon the total area being inventoried. ***

After the video is complete, next is the digital photographs and written inventory of items, room by room. Detailed pictures are taken of major or theft prone items such as appliances, computers, game consoles, jewelry, guns, etc. In-depth descriptions are documented also which includes make, model, serial numbers, etc.

Finally, any backup documentation provided by you will be scanned to be matched with the corresponding inventoried item.

Once video,  photos and scanning has been a completed, we'll review with you the information that was gathered for your verification. At the conclusion of an inventory we do request payment. We will then schedule a date for the delivery of the final inventory portfolio.

Delivery is usually within one week and we prefer to hand deliver completed inventory portfolio's whenever possible.

SECURITY AWARENESS:

Information gathered from an inventory is processed on a secured stand alone computer without the influence of an Internet connection.

Upon the approval of the delivered inventory portfolio, for those who do not opt for off site storage, all forms of information collected will be physically destroyed. Files entered on the processing computer will be "file shredded", not just deleted.

For those who do opt for the off site storage, a copy of the inventory is made on CD for storage, n
o identifiable markings are used on off site material. Then all information is destroyed and "file shredded".
